  • Make It! To Go: Giant Collage Letters
    When: Tuesday, September 02, 2014 - All Day
    Where: Teen Zone (2nd Floor - Main Library)

    Take home a kit to make a giant decorated letter to hang on a wall or door. Ages 10-18. Pick up your kit in the teen area of youth services. Available while supplies last.
  • Comic Drawing
    When: Thursday, September 04, 2014 - 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
    Where: Main Library -- Second Floor Meeting Room

    Marvel/DC comic illustrator Joe Del Beato will lead drawing instruction for children and teens ages 7 to 17. Learn how to draw your favorite characters. In September, Del Beato will lead free workshops focusing on Hispanic characters in comics, cartoons, and graphic novels.
  • New Volunteer Orientation
    When: Saturday, September 06, 2014 - 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
    Where: Main Library -- Second Floor Meeting Room

    All new teen volunteers (ages 13-18 only) must attend this orientation to become a certified volunteer! Plan on staying for the teen advisory group meeting afterwards at 2pm.
  • Teen Advisory Group Meeting
    When: Saturday, September 06, 2014 - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
    Where: Main Library -- Second Floor Meeting Room

    TAG is our teen volunteering group, where teens ages 13-18 can help plan teen events, tell the library what materials to buy, and get volunteer hours for decorating the library, helping with kids events, and more. Free pizza is included with every meeting! All new TAG members should arrive at 1pm to get volunteer training.
  • STEM Saturdays
    When: Saturday, September 06, 2014 - 3:00 PM - 4:45 PM
    Where: Main Library -- Second Floor Meeting Room

    One Saturday per month, join us for a STEM-related project! This month we’ll learn about thermodynamics while playing catch with homemade ice cream, then make a tiny electronic musical instrument out of an Arduino microcontroller.
