People taking an evening stroll on the old wooden way this summer will have no problem finding top-notch entertainment.
The City of Atlantic City has planned a busy schedule of music and entertainment for Kennedy Plaza, located across from historic Boardwalk Hall, this summer.
The Atlantic City Free Public Library will be playing a role in the city's efforts by presenting weekly International Night performances on Wednesday nights and biweekly concerts on Tuesday nights.

The International Night performances, which will showcase the native music and dance of other countries, will be held 7-9 p.m. at Kennedy Plaza - located across from Boardwalk Hall - beginning on Wednesday, July 9, and running through Wednesday, Aug. 27. The shows are free.
The schedule includes a special twin bill on Aug. 20. Polynesian group Island Jam, along with its fire and hula dancers, will perform a two-hour show beginning at approximately 3:30 p.m., immediately following the Atlantic City Airshow "Thunder Over the Boardwalk." The group will again take the stage at 7 p.m.
The bi-weekly concerts, which will also be held from 7-9 p.m., will feature popular local groups who play blues, jazz and rock.
Listed are the programs that the library has scheduled:
Wednesday, July 9 - Edgardo Cintron and Azuca: Latin sensation Edgardo Cintron and his 10-piece band will perform a mix of Puerto Rican and Cuban music. They are well known throughout the area, having played at many of the city's casinos and as headliners at the Cape May Jazz Festival.
Tuesday, July 15 - Angela Burton & Passion: Dynamic song stylist Angela Burton possesses a throaty, moving voice and has performed as an opening act for such headliners as: Teddy Pendergrass, The Shirelles, The Marvelettes, Phyllis Hyman, War, Mandrill, B.T. Express and New Birth.
Wednesday, July 16 - Nai Ni Chen Dance Company: The Nai Ni Chen Dance Company fuses the dynamic freedom of American modern dance with the grace and splendor of Asian art. The group's dances will include ribbon, lion and long-spear dances. This award-winning group has performed 20 national and seven international tours.

Wednesday, July 30 - Ray Smith: The sounds of Caribbean music will be heard around Kennedy Plaza when the Bahamian-born Smith performs. He will present an energetic mix of Calypso songs and ballads while playing the congo and steel drums. Smith released a CD, Sounds from the Bahamas.
Wednesday, Aug. 6 - Gina Roché: As the summer heats up, so too will the music when Roché performs a spicy blend of jazz, blues, standards and original compositions with a Brazilian twist. She's one of the featured artists in Dante Hall's "Bad Girls of Summer Series."
Tuesday, Aug. 12 - The Cole Brothers: A long-time favorite among locals, The Cole Brothers will perform a tribute to Elton John, along with a variety of music from other legends, including the Beatles and Frank Sinatra.
