The Gale Virtual Reference Library provides access to eBooks covering thousands of topics, including: biography, business, education, environment, history, religion and science. These eBooks are a great place to start your research, since they offer well-researched and detailed information.

Get into St. Patrick's Day spirit at March 14 concert

The Atlantic City Free Public Library will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by hosting an Irish concert 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the Main Library. The concert is free and open to people of all ages. No registration is required.
Ceol Binn, featuring Soprano-guitarist Leslie Clarke and harpist Stephanie Sussmeier, will perform. Clarke has performed as a soloist with the Stockton Oratorio Society, Festival Chorus, St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, First Church of Christ Scientist in Ocean City, and with the Tuscany Singers at the Renault Winery and Joseph’s Restaurants.
Sussmeier has been playing the harp for more than a decade. She performs for weddings and background music, and teaches harp at her home and at the Ocean City Arts Center.

Library, staff members and volunteers receive special recognition

Maureen Sherr Frank and Ralph E. Hunter Sr. on Feb. 29 2012 - 2The Atlantic City Free Public Library received special recognition in February for its service to the community.
The library was among four groups selected to be honored by the African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey at the museum’s 10th anniversary celebration on Feb. 29.
Museum founder Ralph E. Hunter, Sr,, thanked the library for its “continued commitment to the African American Heritage Museum, and for sharing in its mission to enhance the cultural and educational landscape of this region.”
The library has partnered with Hunter and the museum the last several years. The library has displayed several popular exhibits that Hunter has created in celebration of Black History Month. He has also been a guest speaker at the library.
The museum also selected AtlantiCare, Buena Vista Township and The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey as this year’s honorees.

Atlantic City Free Public Library

The Main Library of the Atlantic City Free Public Library is located near City Hall and is adjacent to the Atlantic County Offices. The Richmond Avenue Branch is located on the corner of Ventnor and Windsor Avenues connected to the Richmond Avenue public school. The Alfred M. Heston Collection is located within the Main Library. The Atlantic City Historical Musuem is located at the Garden Pier.

The Atlantic City Heritage Collections Location and Hours

The Atlantic City Heritage Collections of Atlantic City history is located within the Main Library, near the Help Desk, and has open research hours on the days below. No appointment is needed during these hours.
