• Second weekly adult literacy class added

    Literacy VolunteersThe Atlantic City Free Public Library and Literacy Volunteers Association Cape-Atlantic are now offering a second adult literacy class - beginning Monday, April 18 - for individuals who need help with their reading and writing skills. The new Monday class is for adults on a first grade reading level or lower, while the Tuesday class is for adults reading at a fifth grade level or lower. Click here to read more.

Miss New Jersey to read to children Aug. 27

Miss New Jersey 2013The Atlantic City Free Public Library will be joined by a special guest – Miss New Jersey 2013 Cara McCollum – for a children’s story time Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The program, for children ages 12 and younger, will begin at 1 p.m. on the Main Library’s second floor.
McCollum is a student at Princeton University and majoring in English with a concentration in Journalism. Her platform as Miss New Jersey is Giving the Gift of Reading. McCollum’s volunteer work has included providing thousands of books to underprivileged children as part of her Birthday Book Project concept.
